AGENT NORTH
SOME THINGS ARE HARDER TO FACE THAN OTHERS
Character Information
Personal:
Canon:
Physical:
- North is a soldier from a war-torn galaxy that has been fighting aliens bent on humanity's destruction for over 25 years. North has known nothing else in his life but the conditions of war.
- North has a twin sister, who was assigned the matching codename to his—so for a long time into the project, North Dakota fought with South Dakota by his side.
- The headcanon name I have given North is Andrew Engelsen. The headcanon name the player of his sister uses is Anja.
- North has zero problems sharing his real name with potential friends, and will give people the option of calling him either by the moniker North or by his real name. He doesn't like nicknames, though; he is Andrew, not Andy or Drew.
Canon:
- Though North comes from a comedy canon, it can be kind of dark in places. Themes that are present in North's canon include genocide, war, ethics, sacrifice, and torture.
- The method and results of Alpha's torture are always with North, as he received the childlike Theta fragment as a partner. Theta was often fearful and was always anxious, and the imprint of this is always in North's mind.
Physical:
- North is tall, and it's obvious that until he became a soldier he was rather gangly. Thankfully, he has become well-muscled, and he maintains his physique despite the two years he recently spent on the run from the Project.
- Vital statistics:
○ Height: 6'7" (200 cm)
○ Weight: 249 lb (113 kg)
○ Hair: Blonde
○ Eyes: Ice blue
○ Gender: Male
○ Race: European - North speaks in a fairly neutral standard Midwestern American accent. The beginning of this video contains a good sample of his speaking voice. North is the one in purple armor.
- North has several remnants of a wilder childhood, such as the lip ring scar on his lower left lip.
- North is a trained sniper, and can use a sniper rifle almost as adeptly without a scope as he can with it. Adjacent to this, he's got unmatched patience, being willing to sit and wait for his quarry for hours without moving and without complaining.
- North is a physical powerhouse, though he's not as adept at hand-to-hand fighting as some of his teammates. There's a reason he consistently ranked around sixth on the leaderboard, after all. However, if you're interested in your character sparring with or fighting against North, please discuss the outcome with me.
- North is also skilled at vehicle repair and equipment maintenance.

Name: Agent North Dakota Door: Submissive Canon: Red vs. Blue Canon Point: As he is being attacked for his AI by the Meta. North is also a CRAU from Sanctums. Age: Unknown | [estimated at around 31] Appearance: North is 6’7” (200.6cm), pale, and blond, with blue eyes. He’s muscular from his line of work, though that’s a bit diminished from his time on the run. He has a few scars from being shot, and from his wild teen years when he had a lip ring. History: This background is in chronological order, although the events shown in the actual program are not. An AI scientist named Leonard Church loses his wife in the midst of securing his education in the field. He then raises his daughter alone, but manages to get his PhD in artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, the leadership of the UNSC Earth Government has been seeking a “magic bullet” solution to ending the war with the aliens, which has been raging for over 20 years. Because of this, Dr. Church gains funding for Project Freelancer, and begins to be known as the Director. Although he is intending to partner all the agents with AIs, he’s only granted funding for one. He decides to use his own mind as a basis for the AI, naming it Alpha. During its creation, however, the memory of his wife splits off as its own entity. This causes him to realize he can torture the AI and cause other fragments to split off. His employee, known as the Counselor, begins to help with this. Simulation bases are built, allowing the agents to train while interacting with real, if incompetent, simulation soldiers. In the process of setting up the Project, the Director hires his own daughter to be an agent in the program. She is designated Agent Carolina. He assigns the memory of his wife that had split off of Alpha as an agent as well, putting her in a robot body and designating her Agent Texas. Agent Texas is active during several missions, during which the Project kidnaps a Huragok alien, which can repair any type of technology. The Director uses this alien to further his research in splitting AIs via torture. North is assigned the childlike AI fragment, Theta, and the two are seen to be a competent pairing when it comes to soldiering. Eventually Agent Connecticut defects, having delved into the Project's files and realizing what is going on. She leaves the evidence behind for Agent Texas to find. Texas finds the evidence and also defects, leading a break-in to attempt to rescue Alpha and Agent Carolina. North is part of the team that defects with her, and he acts as the inside man during the break-in. The mission fails, and the spaceship that is functionally working as the Project’s headquarters crashes into the planet where the simulation bases are headquartered. Agent North and his sister South leave, running away in order to rescue his own AI, Theta, from the entity known as the Meta. The Meta is the team of Sigma and his host, Maine, who begin gathering the other AIs so that they may be reassembled and become a full human. Eventually, the Meta attacks North in pursuit of Theta, a position that South had placed him in. CRAU details: During the time he is fighting the Meta, he is suddenly transported to the planet Zeus, which is the site of the city of Proles. The city is encased in a dome in order to protect the population from a contagion outside known as dysthrophy. The corporation in charge of the city, Bifrons, was in total control of the city; NPCs in charge of Bifrons included a compliance officer (the Coho) who would hypnotize or torture characters into cooperating with their efforts. Characters would first awaken in game with a row of ports having been implanted down their spine. North arrived in Proles to find several people he knew being under the dome, including York, a humanized Delta, and Carolina. His sister, South, arrived not long after. On New Year’s Eve, a computer virus infected the software that is being pushed from Bifrons to each residents’ ports. Known as the Thanos virus, it made the residents irritable and easily angered. South disappeared during the time the virus was still at work, and an anonymous source sent North a video; she had been taken to Bifrons headquarters and never emerged through its doors again. Due to the virus, a friend of North’s gathered some friends to help him attack the tower that contained the mayor’s office. North decided to help because he thought he might discover what happened to his sister there. Bifrons sent Wrath, the lieutenant of Wrath platoon of the Ghost Wolves, to fight them off. Wrath ran North over with her hoverbike and defeated the team. However, Carolina knocked Wrath off the top floor of the building and caused her tremendous injuries. After this, Wrath’s commander, Hob Ravani, who is also Callsign Victor, contacted him over the public network to discuss him joining the militia. The Coho picked North up before he got a chance to visit Ravani, however, and convinced him not to help her. Ravani had to convince him once again, but in the end, he did decide to join the militia. Ravani told him to visit Wrath in the hospital. He wasn’t really very interested, since she had been the one to run him over with a hoverbike, but he did so. He found her to be different from what he expected, and the two hit it off. Another default in the port software caused people to be able to see alternate universes in reflective surfaces, and North and York saw one in which they had been in love. York and North end up in bed because of the memories that they were confronted with. Despite this, York encouraged North’s budding relationship with Wrath. North received his challenge coin at the end of his training for the militia and became Pride lieutenant of the Ghost Wolves. He then continued to visit Wrath in the hospital daily, one time intercepting compliance officers who were attempting to drag her from her bed. A new default in the port software caused a shared dreamscape. Unaware at first that it was all a dream, North and Wrath solidified their relationship. Later on they agree they meant it, however. Later, Wrath was released from the hospital and North helped her pick out a new house. Ravani’s plans in having the Immune join the militia came to fruition and the Callsign program was eliminated, causing the militia to become the Proles Free Army. Upset at the change, the population of the Dome rioted. After the transition was complete, North’s monogamy conflicted with Wrath’s polyamorous outlook, and the two broke up. Not long before North disappeared from the Dome, North and Maine worked out army rotations to guard the new dock that would allow people to leave the Dome. Personality: - condescending - North knows better than you and is willing to show that he thinks so in the way he talks to others and the way he behaves. At one point he’s seen dictating to South what she should do during a mission despite the fact that his prattling on in her earpiece could distract her. He also doesn’t take her into his confidence after deciding to act as the inside man during Tex and York’s defection. He ends up being forced to injure her during the fight for the ship instead. - over-cautious - North tends to be overly concerned with the consequences of defying the status quo. He is wilfully blind to the deficiencies of the leadership of Project Freelancer, only admitting to himself that they cannot be “the good guys” after York brings up some of the issues with the way the last battle had gone. He’s slow to act even after this, and only ends up joining forces with Tex and York after the conclusive evidence that the leadership is in the wrong has been presented to him. - passive-aggressive - North doesn’t tend to confront someone head-on when they’re doing something he doesn’t agree with; he comes at it sideways, or with passive-aggressive remarks. At one point after his sister begins to rant in AI class, North is seen giving a rueful little headshake, grunting in irritation. On another occasion, when York’s jokes are getting to him, he asks York “how many times we’re going to have to hear this story” in a low tone. Powers and Abilities:North has been recruited into an elite force of mercenary soldiers. As such he is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, self-defense tactics, shooting, and survival. His specialty is the sniper rifle; he’s nearly as accurate shooting without a scope as he is with it. In the confrontation with his sister, he’s seen dual-wielding sniper rifles, one in each hand. North is good at calming people down, helping them compromise, helping them feel better, and suggesting things that will help them feel comforted. Given his skills in dealing with Theta it would seem he would be excellent with children, should he find himself around any. North is incredibly patient, a skill that helps him both in his role as a sniper and his attempts to help others. Inventory: A purple suit of Freelancer armor with green accents, his sniper rifle, and a pistol. His AI, Theta, will be missing. Samples: Sample from Piper90 Sample from TDM |
Kinks
North is demisexual panromantic. This means he rarely experiences sexual attraction on the basis of appearance, unless he has formed a close bond with the person. However, he's perfectly capable of having sex with a person of his choosing.

Warnings: Though North comes from a comedy canon, it can be kind of dark in places. Themes that are present in North's canon include genocide, war, ethics, sacrifice, and torture. North himself is a caring dude, but he will smother you if you let him. He can be codependent, also.

- Backtagging: I prefer to play out what I can of a thread in a fairly timely manner. If it's looking like what is happening between our characters is going to have a major impact on their CR longterm, I'll keep backtagging for some months, but for the most part if it's beyond the current plot and it's not going much of anywhere I'm liable to lose interest.
- Threadhopping:I'm all for this in network posts as long as things are open (i.e. there's no indication the transmission is private). For logs, I'd like to be advised you're going to do this, but will most likely be open to it.
- Fourthwalling:No, thank you.
- Off limits: Noncon/rape.
- Warn first: I don't really have any triggers, though I am uncomfortable with elaborate descriptions of gore and such. Putting a cw in the subject line for anything upsetting should cover me.

- Physical affection: North will take this as a cue that a greeting hug upon every encounter is welcomed, so be sure you want to set the precedent.
- Physical violence: North is skilled in hand-to-hand and shooting, so your character may find him a formidable opponent. Check with me before initiating anything.
- Romance: North is demisexual panromantic, so with proper build-up and initiation of a friendship, this is possible.
- Use of telepathy/mind reading: Yes. North is a bit of an open book at the best of times and has no reason to know how to defend himself from such abilities.
- CRAU recognition: under certain circumstances. Please contact me before proceeding.
- Facetwins: No.
