I'm getting that impression. I don't think she knows how to be any other way. Still, it's hard to just set aside the fact that she was particularly loud and vicious in her attempt to slaughter us.

She made it pretty clear to me that if she'd been trying to kill us things would have gone differently. [ The chicken goes in the oven and North leans back against the counter. ] I know for myself, she had a pretty good opening to behead me and she didn't go for it.

Apprehend and bring in rather than a straight up kill order. Yes, I'm fairly certain the crazy wolf side of her would've managed to kill a few of us. If not all of us. Though I have to say she certainly seemed to be trying with me and York.

It was chaos all around. You have to admit you and I weren't really in our right minds at the time. Just the fact that we were there proves that. I don't know about you but I was prepared to fight to the death to accomplish what we were trying to accomplish.

I can absolutely admit that that's how far I was willing to go.

...She wants to spar with me when she's out of traction. Match up in a way where nobody's going to get seriously injured. It's...strange. And--were you making pie for her?

Yeah, she was complaining about the food there and said she liked pie. I make some pretty good ones so I figured, why not. There's leftovers if you want any.

[ There were only a couple of pieces left since everyone else had been at them but they were there on the counter when North pointed them out. ]

...Pardon me if I just find it a little baffling that you even did that for her.

Then again, I might end up sparring with her once she's out of traction. I'm not sure how that happened, either.

[There is a look of bemused thinky thought on his face.] I'm not sure I entirely understand her. Maybe she's been banged in the head a few times too many.

[ He shrugs. ] It was a challenge, I guess.

I don't know about the head injury. It's pretty weird how little she seems to know, even about herself. The network doesn't know, either. There's no information about her anywhere. I mean, other than any information about her as a soldier.

So she's a mystery. Even to herself? [That might explain the odd 'I am a soldier' statement. And some of her hesitations.] And you're interested in unraveling that, hm?

[ There's a pause before he responds. ] Yeah, I suppose I do. I'd like to at least know her name.

You really like her, don't you. [Less of a question; he's making that pretty clear.]

[ He just gives a single nod, with a small tilt of his head. ]

Yeah. I do.

She did beat your head in pretty well. Some might form a grudge after that.

That's true.

[ He blows out a sigh. ]

I don't know what I can say. I just know I wasn't in my right mind when she came in to stop us and I wasn't in control of my actions.

I don't think that's the point here. But I suppose I should at least be thankful she wasn't under orders to kill us.

...You didn't join Victor because of her, did you?

No...it's kind of vice-versa, actually. I would never have visited Wrath if Victor hadn't told me to.

She wants everyone on her team to get along, I imagine. So, a glowing sword all your own, hm? Armour's come so far that somehow that's easier than a gun in the end?

I don't know about 'easier'. I'm still a sniper at heart. But being prepared to melee is a big part of the job, so I'm told. I'm doing a lot of heavy training to be prepared for using it if I need to.

Just try not to do an amplified howl like a crazy person when you run with the big wolves.

[ The idea of that strikes him as pretty absurd and he laughs. ]
